Curation Editor, Lifestyle & Cooking (Contract)

Job Description

Apple News provides millions of users with trusted journalism from leading publishers around the globe. Editors at Apple News highlight the best and most engaging content on our platform. You will make real-time decisions based on the day’s events, curate content, write copy, and communicate directly with our publisher partners. This is a temporary role with a one-year contract.

Key qualifications

• You have strong editorial judgement and excellent writing and editing skills.
• You have experience with writing and/or curating food, cooking, or lifestyle content.
• You’ve worked in a variety of CMSs and social-media platforms, and have a keen understanding of the tools that support state-of-the-art editorial.
• You are fluent with data and analytics, and can responsibly incorporate user behavior into your editorial strategy.

Description

• Select articles for featuring across the Apple News ecosystem, with an emphasis on quality, accuracy, and context.
• Curate stories that drive engagement in the food, cooking, and lifestyle space. 
• Write and edit sharp and engaging copy in the Apple News voice. Work with editors to ensure your work meets all aspects of our house style and standards.
• Work cross-functionally to support News projects and goals.
• Surface bugs and other performance issues.
