Covered the 2022 midterms elections and the 2023 legislative session, including attorney general Ken Paxton’s impeachment. Spearheaded the newsroom’s coverage of LGBTQ legislation, a key focus of the session. Regularly pitched and reported breaking, daily and enterprise stories on various issues — such as LGBTQ, labor, voting access, crypto, drug policies, climate change and immigration — that generated widespread social media engagement as well as TV, radio and podcast appearances.

Oversaw daily news coverage and weekly print production. Won JHM Award for Excellence in Student Journalism 2019 in data journalism for a data visualization on language courses. Published a three-part series on food insecurity that influenced the Board of Governors’s vote on tuition increase and informed the university’s policy decision-making.
