I taught Intro to Coding for Journalism at USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism during the Spring 2020 and Spring 2022 semesters. The class was designed for undergraduate journalism majors to understand the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and to learn to apply those skills towards creating interactive stories.

I edit, produce and report visuals- and data-driven stories focusing on race, inequality and policing. In this role, I work with the broader CNN visuals team to create interactive stories focusing on these beats — and their intersection with many other subjects CNN covers — while coordinating with beat writers, editors and TV producers to develop projects and stories for the network.

Senior data & graphics reporter

I produced, designed and reported explanatory graphics, maps and data visualizations online and in print. I worked with reporters and editors across the newsroom to create standalone graphics and accompanying pieces for both breaking news and enterprise stories, and managed and executed large-scale multimedia projects across departments. Prior to becoming a senior graphics reporter, I was a Metpro reporting fellow from 2014-2016. I was also a member of the team that won the Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting on the 2015 San Bernardino terrorist attack.
