Objective
I'm Jiahui, a recent graduate with honors from Columbia Journalism School Toni Stabile Investigative Journalism Specialization. Before I joined J-school, I did my undergraduate degree in communication studies at the University of Liverpool in the U.K. During my undergrad years, I worked for the Guardian and Reuters Beijing bureau, covering China beat. I wrote stories about the Metoo movement in China, the Hong Kong protest, and the death of Dr. Li Wenliang, and covered the early outbreak in Wuhan for the Guardian. After moving to New York last summer, I started to do beat reporting about undocumented immigrants in New York City and developed my investigative skills. I'm now a summer fellow at the Eurasianet, covering China's investment in Central Asia, environmental justice in Central Asia, etc. I'm looking for jobs that have investigative potential. I'm also looking for reporting jobs in healthcare, immigration, environment, foreign affairs, business and financial market in New York CIty. My long-term career goal is to do international investigative journalism.
