• Reporting on international affairs—including U.S. relations with China, attitudes of Chinese-Americans in the United States, and the global ramifications of the coronavirus on elections and livelihoods around the world. • Producing FP’s flagship podcast, which includes booking guests, pre-production research, marketing outreach, and participating in planning sessions to decide the topic and perspectives covered in each episode. • Writing social copy for all official FP accounts, writes short-form newsletters, contributes to their data analysis reports, and performs website administrative duties. *I stopped working as an editorial intern in December of 2020, but still work at FP as producer of their flagship podcast

• Working directly with the deputy bureau chief on planning and strategizing coverage of political events for TV and radio, including news packages discussing the 2020 presidential debates and voters’ reaction to campaigns. • Researched, booked, and organized sources for newsgathering TV and radio reports.

• Covered U.S. domestic politics, primarily on the Capitol Hill beat alongside staff reporters, which included pitching stories, covering events, monitoring congressional hearings, writing breaking news articles, and interviewing congressional members. • Contributed to their popular In the Know column, which included coverage of D.C. societal events including events surrounding the White House Correspondents Dinner and Smithsonian events.

• Expanded the party’s database of press contacts; created a comprehensive breakdown of major network hosts to aid in future relations; assisted staff in the organization of local and national press outreach. • Implemented a more efficient system of sorting contacts through coding; drafted national constituent newsletter.

• As the only student employee, trusted with finding creative ways to cover events, faculty research, and student work that will increase internal engagement and awareness throughout the University • Takes photos of official University events for the College website.

• Conducted research on the Illinois Marijuana Legalization bill, specifically focusing on the subject of Juvenile Justice and DUI regulation that is currently a major focus of the Illinois General Assembly.
