The summer before my junior year of college, I interned with WCVB Channel 5 in Boston, working across multiple roles to gain a comprehensive understanding of the broadcast industry. At the assignment desk, I identified story leads, researched updates, and contacted sources to arrange interviews. I wrote scripts in ENPS with producers, shadowed reporters in the field, and logged and wrote content for the digital news department. Every Friday, I worked with the weekend political roundtable show, On The Record, where I guided guests and prepared talking points. By the end of the summer, I pitched an original story idea with my fellow news interns to the news director.
