At USA TODAY, my main role as an Audience Visuals Designer is to produce, create and oversee visual content on all of the newsrooms off-platform formats, with a big emphasis on Instagram. Day-to-day I'm creating Instagram graphics for stories and news content like breaking news, life and entertainment, sports and more. Along with specific stories, one of the biggest portions of my role is maintaining brand consistency through the creation and use of templates and elements for the audience team and social media editors. Over my time, I've created several templates including quote cards, headline cards, breaking news cards and even the implementation of full carousels that allow for seamless scrolling. With bigger events, I've had the opportunity to develop branding and overall styles for things like the 2024 Olympics, 2024 presidential election coverage and more. This is where I get to really push the boundary of audience visuals with things like presidential debate bingo, olympic trading card animations and much more.
