I worked full-time as a journalist at a nonprofit newsroom dedicated to long-form, community-centered journalism. I wrote features and an investigative story about housing policy. Pulitzer-Prize-winning journalist Dianna Náñez edited my stories. I analyzed years of government reports to create data graphics for a story funded by the Fund for Investigative Journalism.

Currently, I'm a reporter covering food, money and retail. My stories include trending stories with over 100k pageviews, analyses of political measures affecting tipped workers and deep dives into the food history of Phoenix's Asian American communities. In my first 3 months, I wrote 3 stories featured on the front page of the Sunday paper. I also manage The Republic’s dining Instagram. As Vice Chair of the newsroom’s Diversity Committee, I organized a newsroom-wide workshop about local Asian American history. I'm also leading an effort to conduct a community audit of our coverage of a majority Latino neighborhood.

As the associate editor in charge of a team of 20+ writers at the Claremont Colleges newspaper, I edited multiple articles weekly. I pitched weekly story ideas, created social media content, and designed and led training for new writers. My coverage of protests relating to Israel and Palestine was cited in national publications, such The Intercept and The Chronicle of Higher Education.
