Gwen Ifill Fellow - Washington Week and PBS News Weekend
Full-Time, Non-exempt; 1-year project
Executive Producer, PBS News Weekend
 
ABOUT THE ROLE

This one-year fellowship was created in honor of award-winning PBS NewsHour anchor Gwen Ifill. The Fellow participates in the development and production off Washington Week and PBS News Weekend, with primary responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Producers of Washington Week and PBS News Weekend, including research, gathering editorial information and video elements; copy editing; and assisting with scripts. The Fellow will also have the opportunity to work with digital and broadcast reporters and producers on story assignments and assist with research, pitching, reporting and production of stories that will be published on the PBS Newshour's website and aired on Washington Week and PBS News Weekend.
 
As our fellow you’ll:
Participate in the development and production of Washington Week and PBS News Weekend. Research issues and prepare background information for news segments. Produce video, sound and graphic elements that may include package production. Log and archive video feeds, maintain production notes and assist with editing.
 
ELIGIBILITY
 
US Citizen.
  • Recent graduate (within the past 12 months) of an undergraduate, or graduate program from an accredited school.
  • Recipient of need-based financial assistance for college/university education.
  • Autobiographical essay to be no longer than 300 words.

LOCATION
 
WETA and NewsHour Productions are Washington, DC established media and news organizations.  We are a largely local workforce based out of the Campbell Place office in Arlington, VA.  WETA and NewsHour Productions value employee flexibility when possible.  Most positions based in our Arlington, VA office will be onsite or hybrid, depending upon the role.
